October 23, 2026 | 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM | Biggio Center, Suite 259A (ACLC)
Join the D2L team for the Teaching & Learning Trilogy, a day of live Brightspace demonstrations built around three connected points of view: the instructional designer who builds a course (Create), the student who works through it (Engage), and the faculty member who evaluates learning and supports students (Teach). Each session follows a real, day-to-day workflow rather than a feature tour. Attend one session, a few, or the whole day.
Session 1: Create, 9:00 to 10:30 AM
Discover how Brightspace supports the course-building side of teaching, from templates and accessible content to outcomes-aligned assessments.
Best for: faculty and instructional staff who build, organize, or maintain their own courses.
- Collaboratively building and reusing course templates, modules, and content
- Creating accessible content pages with embedded knowledge checks
- Aligning assessments and rubrics to learning outcomes
- Configuring adaptive, differentiated pathways based on learner performance
- Reviewing accessibility and course readiness before launch
Session 2: Engage, 10:45 to 11:30 AM
See Brightspace through the student experience, walking through a typical week of coursework from the learner's point of view.
Best for: faculty and staff who want to see Brightspace the way students experience it, day to day.
- Checking what's due across courses
- Taking a quiz and receiving immediate, targeted feedback
- Submitting an assignment and confirming receipt
- Reviewing grades, rubric results, and feedback in one place
Lunch and Learn, 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM (Drop-In)
An informal, come-as-you-can session. Explore Brightspace at your own pace, ask questions, and talk with the D2L team outside the structured demonstrations.
Best for: all faculty and staff, no commitment to a specific topic required.
Session 3: Teach, 1:00 to 2:30 PM
Follow the day-to-day workflow of evaluating learning and supporting students, from feedback to intervention.
Best for: faculty, advisors, and anyone who grades, gives feedback, or tracks at-risk students.
- Posting an accessible, personalized announcement with a clear next action
- Reviewing quiz results and item-level analysis to spot problem questions
- Grading assignments with rubrics and audio/video feedback
- Configuring automated, targeted outreach to at-risk students
