Science Communication Series: Improving through Improv

September 30, 2026 | 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM | Biggio Center, Suite 259A

The Science Communication Series is a Biggio Center program helping Auburn faculty communicate their research and expertise clearly and confidently, on campus and beyond. In this session, Improving through Improv, Ryan Gibson uses improvisational exercises to help faculty think on their feet, communicate with more ease, and build confidence speaking about their work in unscripted moments. Join us for an interactive, hands-on session.

In this workshop, we explore the use of Improv in medical and science education. Using low-stakes (meaning you don't have to get up in front of the whole room!) improv games, we will demonstrate how you can bring these activities into the classroom to stimulate discussion, engage with others, and push students to engage in one-on-one and small group communication.

Featured Speaker: Dr. Ryan Gibson
